Here’s the new video of Volksmusik : “The Eyes Of Laura Mars”. Inspired by the 1978 movie with Faye Dunaway, “Eyes Of Laura Mars”, this electro-pop track is composed and performed by Markus Schenker with some additional vocals by Nathalie. Heavily influenced by the 80′s sounds, the track is taken from the forthcoming EP “Talking In Your Sleep”…

Volksmusik, “Ich Warte (Nighttime Remix 09)”

This track was on the first album of Volksmusik, “Nite Patrol”, released in 2004 on an independent label (Klash 80). The “Nighttime Remix 09” is a rework of this piece with a new mix. It is featuring the voice of german singer Karine Liebe who collaborated with Markus Schenker on different tracks on “Nite Patrol” album.
“It’s a fast electro-disco song that was closing the first album of Volksmusik. It’s very moody and melancholic with a strong melody. A kind of homage to the “New York meets Munich” nightlife”, said Markus about “Ich Warte”. But you have to listen to it to make you your own opinion !

Markus, “Midnight Killer”

Recorded in London last summer, after a walk around Whitechapel (the connoisseurs will understand), this is the new track of Markus Schenker (aka Volksmusik). The theme of “Midnight Killer” could be consider as a tribute to giallo movies (especially the Lamberto Bava’s movie shot in 1986) and italo disco.
“It’s a very simple track that goes back to the roots of dance music with a driven beat and horrific moods” said Markus about “Midnight Killer”. So be careful when you’ll dance in the dark the next time !

Volksmusik, “Synthétique”

We shot this video in 2005 with the french director Nicolas Lachambre. This song is featuring Pia Katz as a female guest vocalist. At that time, we wanted to do a tribute to Elli & Jacno by using french lyrics, doing a duet with simple melodies and a catchy chorus. So, today, with the death of Jacno, we dedicate this video to his memory. R.I.P.

Behind this strange name (a satellite of Jupiter), you can find a producer fascinated by the electronic music from Detroit and Sheffield. “Tectites” was released in 2000 on the first full length-album of Janus X. The tectites are fragments of rocks melted and expelled from the crater during the impact of a meteorite.

“Burn Hollywood Burn” is the new release of Volksmusik. On this Ep, you can find brand new tracks : “Cold Blooded Woman”, an electro-pop song inspired by some great hits of the 80’s, and “Synthétique”, a crossover between Kraftwerk and the legendary French duo Elli & Jacno. “Das Ist Volksmusik”, “Korper” and “Hollywood Vampire” are reedited for this Ep.
The three tracks were released on “Nite Patrol” album that is sold out now. “This Ep contains one of my favorites tracks of Volksmusik. Hope that the fans will like it !” said Markus about “Burn Hollywood Burn”.
